Torche – Meanderthal
[Hydra Head, 2008]
genre: stoner, doom, sludge, punk, pop/rock
Album Review by Sovereign

The sound of Torche can be described simply as Heavy. No more details. It is heavy metal, stoner rock, doom metal, punk, sludge or something else…? Who cares, it is HEAVY! And that’s enough. Clean vocals that can fit with the pop stoner sounds. Acceleration, rhythm, beats and beer attitude. This is it. Sometimes reminds me QOTSA, other times are like Jesu and at the end there is a Big Black attitude. Every single song is a new dimension of heavy sounds. The vocals as I said are clean, but with a great style and sometimes a distorted tone give us a dusted atmospheric scene in our minds.
