Animal Collective – Merriweather post pavillion
[Domino records,2009]
Album review by Goresonic
Genre: Psychedelic rock, experimental rock, ambient, art rock, avant-garde

“Merriweather post paviliion” is Animal Collective’s latest album that will be out on January 12, 2009.
In this album, Animal Collective don’t surpsise us and they produce their usual 60’s psychedelic minimal techno and ambient sound that they are used to play in previous albums. Although, you cannot say that this album doesn’t have anything new to offer. I think that album after album their mission is to perfect this special sound and makes it the one which characterises them. “Somertime girls”, “Lion in a coma” “My girls” and “In the Flowers” are the songs that perfectly introduce us to their sound. “Taste” is the more minimal techno and noise song of the album and finally “Brothersport” , a full 60’s psychedelic sound with some noise, give us the perfect end for the album. The most important think in this song, is that they saw us how the Beach-Boys would have sound like today. Congatulations to them!
